VJ Mancuso was born on November 20, 2006 and died October 12, 2010. VJ suffered from one of the most serious of heart conditions, hypo-plastic left heart syndrome, a congenital heart defect. VJ attended the Clarkson Valley Early Childhood Center (Rockwood School District). He also had a great relationship with the staff at St. Louis Children’s Hospital where he frequented for care since birth.

The VJ Mancuso Memorial Fund was founded in 2010. Money raised helps children with special needs, offering them the same learning opportunities as other children. Donations empower teachers with the equipment and resources to achieve these goals. St. Louis Children’s Hospital is another beneficiary of the Fund. Children, families and nurses receive resources to help care for special children in need. It is the goal to inspire people to learn, laugh and love as VJ did.

In 2013, trivia night raised its highest total ever with over $21,000. In three years the event has raised more than $53,000. Proceeds continue to benefit the Clarkson Valley Early Childhood Center (Rockwood School District) where VJ attended, Temple Israel’s Early Childhood, St. Ambrose Church & School and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Items donated have included iPads for early childhood classrooms, infant and toddler clothing and toys, other day-to-day necesseties and funding for scholarships for school admissions.

The VJ Mancuso Memorial Fund Trivia Night Host Committee includes: Vincent and Jennifer Mancuso, Scott and Stephanie Rhea, Ben Sandmel and Angela Rollins.
